The province offers you over 700 km of long distance footpaths (with the symbol “GR”) and many other local and regional trails, all thought to be convenient to spend a family holiday. You can find different walks or hikes (called “andadas”) events combining sports and holiday, in which hundreds of hikkers meet to have fun together. Two good ideas would be hiking: laMarcha Senderista del Mezquín – across the landscapes of Aragon and Matarraña – or Aragón Sur, held annually in the city of Teruel.
In Spain, some ancient railways have been used as hiking or cycling tourism. They are called Vía Verde (literally – green way). In Teruel there are two main green ways, 120km for bicycle touring, horse riding or hiking: Val de Zafan and Ojos Negros II. Experts should try Marcha MTB Matahombres held in Camarena de la Sierra, or the treks and descent trails on the ski slopes of Valdelinares and Javalambre in summer.
In the Valdelinares and Javalambre down-hill ski resorts and the Nordic skiing trails in Griegos you can enjoy several snow activities. Our facilities allow everyone to use the ski areas, from experts to beginners, as mountain resorts of the province organize special events for those who love active tourism. In summer the ski resorts become adventure sport centers where you can have a great time.
