The Cultural Parks in Aragon, whose sole proprietor is the Autonomous Community of Aragon, are a particular figure not only for managing but also for protecting the heritage. The province of Teruel has three parks where natural attractions are combined with some excellent examples of cultural heritage. These parks are in Albarracin, Maestrazgo and Rio Martin. The three parks have in common some of the most famous Cave Painting sites in Europe. The paintings are dated from prehistorical times which were whimsically located in accessible rock shelters thanks to the hiking routes, so the visit is suitable for the whole family.
In addition, there are museums, exhibitions and many other tourist resources in each park, such as those related to the landscape and natural heritage, its history and the local customs. The range of the activities offered is so wide that we would like to make you a few suggestions, like visiting the Iberian Cultural center in Oliete, the Templars one in Castellote or the traditional architecture in Sierra de Albarracin, located in Pozondón.
A fourth park in Sierra Menera will shortly come on stage. It will be focused on the cultural heritage related to iron minesand its evolution from antiquity until present day in this part of the province.
To conclude, if you want to combine tourism with natural heritage and rural culture during your trip to Teruel, do not forget to visit the Cultural Park because you will be really delighted.
